There was mourning once again at Kenyatta University when a football fanatic and a gambler .KU student, committed suicide in Migori after losing Sh 80,000 to Sportpesa.
The student was sure Italy was winning their match against Germany, having watched how they smashed Spain. He placed Ksh 80,000 as abet and was sure of reaping big at the end of the match.
After placing the bet, he just slept so that a congratulatory message from the company can decide the time he could wake up. The following morning, not even a regret message was sent to his phone. The Ksh80, 000 school fees had gone to Sportpesa account.
The poor boy travelled to his home in Ondome, Uriri and took his life. His body is in a Migori mortuary.
