News from South Africa indicate that former president Mwai Kibaki has suffered from a stroke, which threatened to devastate his family.
The 84-year-old collapsed at his home in Muthaiga on Sunday morning, shortly after waking up and was rushed to Karen Hospital. But the local hospital did not have the capacity to save Kibaki’s life. His doctor, Dan Gikonyo proposed for Kibaki’s transfer to a more equipped hospital.
On Sunday evening, he was flown to South Africa, where he has been receiving treatment.
Sources from South Africa intimate to us that Kibaki has recovered, but he is still weak and will stay at the hospital for some time.
