Caster Semenya,a married man, won a gold in the just concluded Olympic games in Brazil. Upon arrival in South Africa, he gifted his wife, Violet Raseboya, the gold medal he won in the 800 meters race.
Excitement filled the Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa when Semenya finally accepted he is a man by acknowledging his wife in front of a cheering crowd.
He said:
I want to appreciate all of you for supporting me.I also appreciate my wife for being in my side,I dedicate this medal to her”.
Semenya’s testosterone levels are three times those usually found in women and approaching those of a man.Five years ago, there was controversy surrounding the athlete’s gender, which prompted the athletics community to prove whether he is indeed a woman. But the results were too controversial until they allowed him to continue participating as a woman.
