Kenyan teachers are demanding 300 %salary increments. This is after their strike bore aborted in 2015.
The teachers, through Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), have told the government to increase the salary else they vote for opposition leader Raila Odinga in the 2017 elections.
The new salary structure, after the adjustment, will see the lowest paid teacher pocketing Ksh50, 016 while the highest will go home with Ksh 218,178

Considering the economic situation in Kenya, the salary increment looks realistic in paper but impossible practically. It might take KNUT up to 20 years to reach the 300 % increment target
