Royal Media Services Chairman S.K Macharia has indicated CORD Raila Odinga won the 2017 elections but he was denied victory.Macharia,who supported and even financed Raila in 2013, made the claim during a presentation on the election laws debate in Parliament on Tuesday.
“The one who was declared the winner in 2007 was not the winner… We tracked all the results through satellite phones,” he said. “As per my records, Raila won the elections.”
“If you read the IEBC summary report, it says there was confusion in the 2013 register,” he said.
He added: “Whatever I say here, that media owners dispute, I will take full responsibility for. We can use satellite phones in areas not covered by mobile phone networks.”
The RMS Chairman believes Raila might make Uhuru sweat in 2018 because he has huge support in at least 24 counties.
Macharia’s revelations comes as a surprise since he had already declared he is tired of supporting Raila Odinga.Early this year,the business mogul claimed he regrets supporting Raila in 2013 after his companies posted huge loses.He added he is now wise and won’t repeat the mistake.
