The first and most important thing you should note is that election result will be decided between today and 14/2/2017.If Raila manages to convince his subjects to register more than 4 million votes, then he will be sure of occupying State House this year but if Uhuru registers two more million voters, there is no need of elections.

Currently, opposition leader Raila Odinga has a deficit of 2 million votes while Uhuru needs to register just one million votes to be sure of clinching the seat. To beat Uhuru, Nyanza, Coast, Western and Ukambani must register a combined vote in excess of 3 million…4 million to be precise.

The second thing to note from this exercise is that for you to register as a voter, you must meet the following:

  • Registered voters will be issued with a registration acknowledgement slip bearing the voter′s details.
  • However, this slip will not be a requirement for voting.

  • When you are not in possession of the original ID card or a valid Kenyan passport
  • When one is un-discharged bankrupt
  • When you have been found guilty by an election court or reported to be guilty of any election offence during the preceding five years.
  • If a competent court declares you to be of unsound mind
  1. Is an eligible voter allowed to register more than once?

No! A person is only allowed to register once as a voter in a constituency or registration centre of his or her choice. It is an offence to register more than once.

    4. What is the penalty of registering more than once?

    5. Can a person transfer as a voter to another registration centre or constituency?

YES! A person may transfer as a voter to another registration centre of his or her choice within the registration period.

Finally, Luo, Luhya, Kisii and Maasai women have a tendency of not registering as voters while Kikuyu women register to the last woman. In order for Raila to beat Uhuru,he must convince women from his backyard to take ID cards, then register to elect him.
