Kenyans in Kenya can now apply to join the U.S. Army

Kenyans living in Kenya and not necessarily the United States can now apply to join the U.S. Army. The United States Army announced that it would soon be accepting applications from interested individuals who wish to join them.

For the previous years, only U.S. residents and citizens were allowed to join the country’s army but a statement issued by its office in California says it’s embarking on international recruitment.

The press release announced that the procedures for applications would be released to the public in the coming weeks and it is only for individuals aged 21 to 35. Currently, the minimum remuneration for U.S Army personnel is $180,000 per annum, which translates to a monthly salary of $15,000

This is considered a reprieve for most Kenyan youths who are unemployed and would love to try their luck. Thousands of Kenyan youths after years of unfruitful job search usually choose to join the country’s army every year during the recruitment process.  The lucky one to be selected will join the list of several Kenyans who have served honorably in the US armed forces, including in war zones such as Afghanistan.
