Election year is here again and three tribes, Kamba, Luo and Luhya, have joined hands to form the biggest coalition in Kenyan history, NASA.Supporters of the coalition, who come from the three tribes would want to know then number of registered voters who will compete against the Kikuyu and Kalenjin.

According to IEBC figures, there is a total of 2.1 registered Luos in Kenya, most of them in Nyanza. The Luhya community has a total of 1.6 million registered voters while the Kamba has registered 1.7 million voters. In total the three tribes have a total   5.4 million voters.

The Kalenjin and Kikuyu have a combined 5.3 million votes but the most interesting about the Jubilee coalition is that Kikuyu always vote alongside their “cousins “,Embu and Meru, who are referred to as GEMA.If you add the Kikuyu,Embu Meru and Kalenjin votes, the Jubilee coalition has a total 6.5 million votes, which means that they have 1.2 million more votes.

As we approach the 2017 elections,it’s clear NASA coalition requires 1.2 million more votes to be at par with the Jubilee coalition.Since it’s evident Coast,Nyamira,Kisii and 60 % of the Maasai will vote for NASA,the race will be decided by the turn out.
