Henry Chibueze alias Vampire has been killed by Nigerian police in a gun battle that lasted over 30 minutes.
Today morning, at around 11 am, The Police Special Force led by the IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT) trailed a group of suspected criminals. When “the Vampire” and his company realized the police were on their neck, they tried to shoot, forcing the police to draw guns.Chibueze was gunned down and breathed his last 30 minutes later.
Following the incident, five members of the gang were arrested, several guns and rounds of ammunition were recovered too.
Chibueze has been among the most wanted criminals in Nigeria after he escaped from prison on January 27.He was accused of mass murder and rape. During his trial,a gang raided the Owerri High Court,recsuing one of their own, but it took the police less than 2 months to respond.
