Latest survey show that Evans Kidero will easily retain his governor position in the forthcoming general election. Analysts have predicted that only a miracle could make Peter Kenneth win the race.
To begin with, more than half of the Kalenjin votes will go to Evans Kidero, who the people from Rift Valley see as a lesser threat. It is also believed that despite Kenneth being the best suited candidate for the gubernatorial race, he is seen as a stumbling block for William Ruto,the main reason why Kalenjins will reject him at the ballot box.
The Kalenjins are difficult to understand, and this is what the president should be aware of.Currently,they know why the former Gatanga Member of Parliament was brought on board-to block Ruto from ascending to power. Since they know this, chances of convincing them to vote for an “enemy within” will be slim.
We understand CORD fraternity is bitter with the Jubilee administration. It therefore means that the 690,000 individuals who voted for the current governor will still vote for him. To add sugar to an already sweet soup, Kalenjins will vote for him, leaving Peter Kenneth with GEMA votes. This voting pattern will assure Kidero of clear win, without court cases.
We understand Sonko is bitter…he has been sidelined by Jubilee, and we know he will be blocked from contesting on a Jubilee ticket; if by chance he crosses over to another party and contest for Senatorial race, he will have a clear win. But take this to the bank,Sonko will campaign against President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Analysts say, if it’s not Kidero vs Sonko,then the former will have a landslide win, approximately 60 % of the cast votes.Peter Kenneth’s ambitions will be thrown to the sea.
