Nairobi Aspiring Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, is reportedly broke.
Sources close to the senator indicate that for the past one month, Sonko has found it hard to campaign in Nairobi after exhausting his bank accounts. To make matters worse, the Senator is not able to put posters on Bill Boards due to his dry accounts.
Over the past three weeks, Sonko has hibernated, prompting his supporters to question why he rarely campaigns. In the streets of Nairobi, only Kidero and Peter Kenneth are seen campaign campaigning.
Earlier, reports indicated Sonko was under instructions not to talk too much. It even became clear last week when he skipped a debate on TV. Contrary to this, The Star has affirmed that the Senator is indeed broke.
According to the newspaper, Sonko’s sponsors have chickened out after realizing their businesses would suffer under the Senator. Since Sonko was banking on them for campaign finance, the senator has found it hard to move around the city to seek votes.
