IEBC has cleared Classic FM presenter, Maina Kageni,to run for Nairobi Women Rep seat.
The electoral body cleared the ambitious radio powerhouse to run against incumbent Rachel Shebesh and NASA nominee Esther Passaris.Maina will contest as an independent candidate.
Pressure from women pushed Maina into accepting their request to run for the women position, but the IEBC has been tasked to confirm whether Mr Kageni is a woman, since the position he is running for is reserved for women.Maina has, however, dismissed jealous men, accusing them of interfering with women affairs.
“These are women affairs, men should mind their business”, he was quoted saying.
A recent poll placed Kageni at position three, behind Passaris and Shebesh.The race will now get sweeter with the radio host in the race.
