Ways Kenyans waste their money: This how you become poor

There are over 100 ways Kenyans, especially those in employment waste money. The small blunders they make leave their peers swimming in wealth years later.

In employment, salary is guaranteed. With this in mind, many Kenyans find themselves spending for things that least matter.Venas News will point out how Kenyans waste money which could otherwise be invested.

Living in a big house when you are single

Sometimes salary is tempting. If you get an employer who pays you Ksh200, 000 per month, you will be tempted to live in a three bedroom apartment where you pay Ksh40,000 per month. Imagine living in a three bedroom house when you are single…not even a relative is living with you, what will you do with the other two bedrooms, close them?

I will suggest you take a decent one bedroom house in a secure neigbourhood where you pay Ksh 20,000 per month. This way you will have more you save.

Having a mpango wa kando when you are married

Knowing well your mpango wa kando is there to squander your money and leave you when you become broke, you won’t waste time to spend on her. And by the way, there is nothing special the woman can offer that your wife lacks.

It’s sad that the more a man earns the higher the chances of adding a woman in his life.By having a mpango wa kando,he will rent a house for her, give her some money and even buy her a car. What if he decides to do away with the woman and resolve to save the money in Unit Trusts, will he die?!!!

Owning a personal car when you are living from hand to mouth

It’s sad that you are straining yet you own a personal car to boast around. I always advise guys earning Ksh 20,000-Ksh70, 000 to shelve plans of buying a car and concentrate on saving the money they would spend on fuel, car service and parking.

Spending too much on friends and family members

Another way Kenyans waste their money is through spending a lot on family members and friends. Before you take the baggage of educating all your siblings, including your cousins, uncles and aunties, make yourself comfortable first. I can tell you for sure that when you become broke, these are the same people who will laugh at you. You only have to spend when the case is serious.

Friends too can milk you dry. On this planet, there is no genuine friend. When it comes to spending, don’t spend on someone who cannot add value to your life.

Betting

Betting has become a disease, which if not contained will make more than half of Kenyans beggars.

Betting is a rat race,it makes think you are almost hitting the jackpot yet you are a million miles away. The earlier you quit the better.
