Peter Kenneth is expected to step down for Mike Sonko after he was promised a cabinet slot by President Kenyatta.
The former Gatanga Member of Parliament is expected to drop down his bid this week and throw his support behind Sonko, who will wrestle the incumbent Evans Kidero.Kenneth has been promised a cabinet slot if Jubilee wins August poll.
Earlier,the Jubilee administration was worried Mr Kenneth could share Jubilee votes, thus giving Kidero opportunity to defeat the two, but Kenneth’s move boosts Sonko’s chances of becoming the next governor of Nairobi County.
Latest opinion poll shows that Kidero and Sonko are neck to neck, implying any would win the seat..but Kidero might retain his seat due to his ability to connect well with the high and mighty in Kenya.Dor Sonko to win, he should convince the elite, beyond doubts, that he would behave as an adult once elected to the coveted office.
