Kisii region is expected to benefit more from Uhuru’s administration because of the many votes they gave to President Kenyatta.
Before elections were held, Kisii was a NASA zone-even Raila knew he would get more than 70% of the votes from Nyamira and Kisii counties. Elections were held Tuesday and results changed everything.Uhuru himself could not believe his eyes as votes showed he defeated Raila in some Kisii polling stations.
Raila and Uhuru shared Kisii and Nyamira votes equally. Out of the 500,000 people who voted in the two counties, Uhuru scooped over 200,000 votes…it was a surprise for him since he expected to garner less than 100,000 votes.
The excellent performance by the president is due to the many trips he has made into the region and the many leaders who had defected from ODM to Jubilee due nomination malpractices. Acting Interior CS also did a wonderful job as he mobilized thousands of Kisiis to vote against the opposition leader.
Due to the good gesture from the Kisii people, the region is expected to gain more than any other region in the country. Roads, electricity and other infrastructures will be a top priority for the region. The president will also appoint several Kisii into his administration.
