IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati has just announced Uhuru Kenyatta the President elect.
In a ceremony attended by leaders from all corners of the republic, Chebukati said the exercise was free, fair and credible. During the announcement, he revealed that the president garnered 8196313 votes (54.19%) while his closest challenger,Raila Odinga garnered 6793919 votes (44.92%)
Uhuru will wait for the searing ceremony, thereafter be the duly elected president of Kenya. His term will end in 2022.
Though IEBC declared him the winner, the opposition leader, Raila Odinga disputed the result.
