Why some bloggers succeed and others fail

Many bloggers have asked me this question, how can I succeed in blogging? It’s obvious, in blogging some bloggers are extremely successful while others have failed terribly. The question of whether you will succeed in blogging will rely absolutely on the content you give your readers.

I normally answer questions in terms of practical examples. You have noticed a blogger who waits until other bloggers post some content, he then edit the original articles and post them as his-more than half of the blogs in the blogosphere follow this trend. In the event that the blog you are trying to copy fails to post, you will be rendered blank and eventually pull out of blogging.

Fake bloggers never joined the profession to write what they know, they simply found themselves in this ecosystem after reading somewhere that blogging is a profitable venture. It’s unfortunate that 97 % of these blogger leave as they joined as their original goal was not achieved as soon as they had imagined.

When you search for any content online, you will notice that Google has placed the usual blogs in page one. You will realize that no matter what, some blogs must appear in the front page of the search engines. These blogs are owned by successful bloggers. They are owned by people who have passion, individuals who passionately write about what they love and know better. If you didn’t know, Google operates like a human being, it gives the best content first priority and the worst content last priority. A single topic can be written by a million people but only about 10 blogs will be given first priority.

In the world of blogging, successful bloggers never surrender even if they have never achieved their financial target, they write, write and write until they get noticed. Successful bloggers understand their readers well and strive to provide the best content.

From the word go, you will notice a fake blogger and a passionate one. An article written by a fake blogger is not motivating, the article is usually written in a hurry because the blogger’s primary intention is not to invest time in writing eye catching article, his intention is to make money. The blogger doesn’t care about the readers emotions, he only cares about the dollars he will make that day. If you have been online for long, you will bear me witness that there are articles you won’t spend even a single minute reading. Naturally, you will be bored the moment you read the first paragraph-these are articles written by fake bloggers.

For you to succeed in blogging, you have to write articles using practical examples, humour, testimonies and real life events, such that when the reader is going through your article, he will be able to know what others are experiencing and find a solution from your article. It’s for this reason that most bloggers are encouraged to specialize in a niche that they are good at. By the way there is something strange I witnessed one time. As I was starting blogging, I tried to write about some software. I wrote two sentences and got bored. I had to stop writing the article. This happened because I was trying to write what I didn’t know. So, as a blogger, it’s important you try to write what you feel motivated writing on daily basis even if you know the niche does not attract many readers.

One secret I have gathered about blogging is that no matter how hard you work if you don’t have original content, you will finally give up. It’s common knowledge that bloggers who fail terribly know that their articles are copied from popular blogs. For them to make their articles popular, they have to share them on several Facebook and Twitter accounts. These bloggers have several Pseudo accounts, which they use to share the content on popular Facebook accounts. The most unfortunate thing is that over time, their readers get bored with the content, meaning even if they share the content, no one will be interested to read their content.Eventually, the bloggers opt out.

Successful blogs will survive without Facebook pages. These blogs normally receive more than 50 % of their traffic from search engines (you can check on Alexa percentage of traffic Venas News receives from search engines, more than 70 %, yet we receive over 30,000 daily visits)

Without saying much, here is a summary of major reasons why some bloggers succeed and others fail.

  1. Unique content
  2. Consistency
  3. Offering solutions to readers
  4. Passion

If you have the four attributes, you will definitely succeed in blogging.
