If you are about to join college or already enrolled in a Kenyan university, you need a laptop. While it’s almost impossible to survive without a laptop in a Kenyan university especially if you are a computer science student, it’s important to know the best laptop to buy.
10 years when I was in college I managed to buy a laptop from Nakumatt.I can attest that the laptop, a HP,served me well until I was able to afford a more expensive one. The reason I bought it from Nakumatt was simple, durability and sale warranty. Now, this brings a question, what factors do you consider before you purchase a laptop in Kenya? For me I usually go for the RAM, Memory capacity, the brand and processor. If a laptop has more than 500GB of memory, RAM of at least 4 and has a processor of at least i3,I will go for it.The price comes later after I have noted down features I am interested in.
As a student I know your pocket is not deep, which means affording a laptop of above Ksh 30,000 is not easy. The ideal laptop for you wil cost Ksh 20,000 to Ksh 30,000.If that’s your choice, I will advise you to go for the following brands:

- Lenovo
- ASUS
If your parent can afford a more expensive laptop, then Apple laptop is the best.

I will advise that you buy from a popular shop, where you will be provided with a sale warrant. You should also avoid buying a used laptop.
