An eye witness has narrated what transpired between Citizen TV’s Francis Gachuri and NASA supporters.
According to the witness,this is what led to Francis’s predicaments:
“I was at Wiper headquarters when the incident occurred.
The PG meeting was gong in in a tent and it was exclusively for elected leaders, a few NASA factotums like my senior Philip and Dikembe were the only non-elected leaders allowed into the PG. The other supporters, I included were a few kilometers away from the tent where the PG meeting was ongoing.
An altercation started between Francis Gachuri and one youth from Kawangware, initially Francis retaliated the attack in self defense but he was overpowered when the other youths joined him. The altercation became louder and attracted the attention of those in the tent. It took the intervention of sensible people like Philip Etale, Karlmarx Odhiambo, Mzee’s security and myself to secure Francis Gachuri into one of the rooms inside the Wiper house. Philip then retreated back to calm the youth who were now attacking the other journalist citing their open bias and skewed reporting.
When the journalists walked out in protest after the incident it was Philip who walked them out of the Wiper headquarters to cushion them from any farther attack from the NASA supporters who were still determined to attack Gachuri despite the intervention. In fact they said they will attack him wherever they will find him”
