Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru has been involved in an accident at Kabati on the Thika-Kenol Highway.
The Governor was enroute to Nairobi when the accident occurred. The driver lost control of the car and rammed into metal bars. The driver was rescued first as the governor was fighting for his life while trapped in the vehicle.It took citizens 30 minutes to rescue the newly elected governor.
Mr Gakuru has been rushed to Thika hospital in critical condition.
