A church in South Africa has attracted over 100,000 new members after the pastor and worshippers openly started taking alcohol.

Bishop Tieti Makiki practices what he preaches. Each week before he embarks on preaching, he has to take a full glass of alcohol, he then distributes the remaining bottles to his members. The Habula church founder claims that drunkards are rejected in the society and since he introduced this unique method of attracting worshippers, more than 100,000 men have found home in his church. He adds that every single day over 1,000 new members, mostly men, are registered.

One of the members of this church responded while answering to questions from a journalist, “I am always the first one to arrive in church. I am happy the pastor knew what we were missing and I pray that we continue this way. This drink here has completely finished my hangover, I am now ready to listen to the word of God”.

Bishop Tieti is now determined to win more followers, probably 2 million by 2018.
