Tesla Njeri has won a whooping Ksh 100,000 plus a 42 inch TV after participating in Talanta Mtaani competition Season 1
Tess, as she is popularly known, had exceptional talent, placing her top of every competitor. Eventually, the 19-year-old student at East African University emerged victorious.Tessy was overcome by emotions after learning she trounced all her competitors, but she thanked God for her victory.
In any competition, there must be other winners: Taking position two was Keith Sky, also 19-years-old and a student at Pwani University. Keith performed an electrifying dance routine that won him the second prize courtesy of Dafabet. Keith received his winners purse worth Ksh 50,000 from Chris Harley Dafabets CEO and Head of Business Development.
Maureen Wanyoike, a student at USIU studying Criminal Justice and Psychology took potition three and she was awarded Ksh30,000.
Besides the aforementioned awards,all winners walked away with TV sets and set boxes courtesy of STAR TIMES.
Talanta Mtaani is a project that seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem within the creative economy in the MTAAS by for example refurbishing infrastructure such as community halls and inspiring youth across all genres of talents. The project
In the spirit of promoting talent in the country, several organizations have teamed up to make the dream a reality. Here are various ongoing projects under Talanta Mtaani initiative:
- Training courses for all the 42 semifinalists with the Unda Ajira Hub , a training program of LAN X Africa consultancy They will be trained on Career development, business strategic planning and financial management amongst other courses to enable them sustain themselves using their Talent as a legitimate business. They will also be involved in CSR activities and have already started planting trees in partnership with Miss Environment Kenya.
- Dafabet has also come out strongly to support the CSR component and have donated several soccer kits to the mtaas soccer teams.
Talanta Mtaani Season 1 was sponsored by Star Times,Dafabet, Highlands Mineral Water and Club Soda, Kenya Cultural Centre incorporating the Kenya National Theatret, Unda Ajira Hub, Rialto Fashion and Shammy’s organics .
Season 2 is set to be launched in early 2018 with strategic partners such as Uwezo Awareness Organization joining as thought leadership partners to continue the impact to the target beneficiaries.
