If you scored between A plain and C+ in KCSE, congratulations. But before you make your career choices, you have to first know which university is most suitable for you.

Since you are the top cream, chances are that you will be selected to pursue the best degree courses in various local universities. Though it’s upon the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service to select a course you will pursue in the university, your decision during course selection matters… I will talk more of this later.

In 2017, the following universities were ranked as the best by Webometrics:

The University of Nairobi was left out of this list because of their prolonged strike, but it should be the first choice among A materials.

Before you select a particular course, you should first know which university offers that course. The list we have provided above should guide you in arriving at your decision.

If you scored a B plain and below, I’d advise you to avoid The University of Nairobi, JKUAT,Moi and Kenyatta University if at all you want to pursue a marketable course. I would also advise you to choose a less competitive university, where most students are not interested to join. For instance, if your degree of choice is Medicine, never select the University of Nairobi if at all you didn’t score A or A-.If your grade was B+,select universities like Mount Kenya,Maseno University or any other less popular university…they will admit you.

If you scored A- and B+, the best universities for you are:

  • Maseno University
  • Kenyatta University
  • Egerton University
  • Kabarak University
