You read it right! The voice search function of Google doesn’t turn on only when you want it to. In other words, it records nearly everything you’ve said throughout the past years, and this includes even your Android device that you’ve used it to log in to your Google account.
The Independent reports that this has started back in June, 2015.
And just when you think it can’t be more shocking, here’s another fact- Google has set up a website where you can find every recorded conversation and action associated with your name.
So, you can visit the website and listen to the stored recordings whenever you like.
And here’s another webpage on the same website that shows every move you’ve made on Google, including the search bar, YouTube videos, image search, and ads, which is pretty much every activity you can do on the Internet.
On these webpages, you can not only see information from your computer, but also from your smartphone or any other Android device logged in to your Google account.
How to Delete the Recordings
There’s an option to delete the files containing your voice recordings if you don’t like the idea of Google having hours of your conversations stored in its database.
There’s a checkbox beside the title of each file on the left. Select the boxes you like to delete, and simply select ‘delete.’
How to Stop Google Listening to and Recording You Again
The first thing to do if you like to stop Google from listening to and recording you again is not using the Google Voice Search ever again. The next thing to do is disable this function by doing the following actions on your Android device:
Step 1 – Go to Settings and find ‘Language and Input’ under ‘Personal’.
Step 2 – Select ‘Google Voice Typing’ and click on ‘“Ok Google” detection’.
Step 3 – Then, select ‘From the Google app’ and move the slider to the left.
