Raila Odingaโs new job title will be announced this month.In the new appointment,the former Prime Minister will earn slightly less than the president but above the Deputy President.
A source within the government intimate that Raila will pocket a monthly salary of Ksh1.5 million, exclusive of allowances and other benefits. The former opposition leader will also get 4 chase cars,15 body guards and an office at Jogoo House.Raila will also be entitled to as many foreign trips as possible.
However, we are informed that he might decline the offer and instead take up an international role. Reliable information state that he has been in constant talks with high placed individuals within UN,U.S government and the European Union. Itโs possible his new office might be in New York.
If Raila takes the international appointment, he would earn in excess of Ksh5 million but he will be cut off from Kenyan politics, which is Deputy President William Rutoโs prayers.
This week,a team that was formed by the president and his โbrotherโ Raila to come up with a plan on how the two leaders will co-exist for the next 5 years ,will unveil its report.Thereafter,Raila will be a government employee.
