This year’s internship and Part time job opportunity at USAID is sponsored by various partners and well wishers across the globe. Our aim is to recruit and facilitate competent interns and part time employees to help achieve our goals for the next 12 months as part of giving back to the community in which we operate. We take seriously our obligation to provide a safe working atmosphere for all persons involved in this program.
Our recruitment team had reviewed your application and accorded you an opportunity to serve as one of our staff based purely on your academic profile. In this regard, you will be required to attend a two days training that will be conducted in each of the following Counties; Kisumu, Machakos, Kisii, Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Homa – Bay, Siaya, Migori, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kiambu, Turkana, Trans – Nzoia, Kitui, Bungoma, Makueni and Mombasa. The training shall be conducted on 5th and 6th May 2018 (Saturday and Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This training is mandatory hence you must purpose to attend in any of the above areas.
The aim of this training is to equip you with requisite knowledge and skills regarding the activities of USAID. It shall be conducted by USAID HR department together with a team of experts from our partners and consultants. You shall learn your roles and responsibilities, your work stations, work schedule and much more. Interns shall be paid a daily stipend of KES 2,150 and given free accommodation in our rented apartments in their places of work together with transport allowances. Part time employees on the other hand shall receive a basic salary of KES 38,600 exclusive of all relevant allowances and accommodation. This is therefore subject to state taxes and any other deductions. This contract runs for one year. We may consider you for a permanent employment thereafter based on your competence during this period.
Our interns shall choose either to work on weekdays or weekends. If you choose to work on weekdays, you will be required to attend our field activities for at least three days a week while if you decide to work on weekends, you shall attend our field activities both on Saturdays and Sundays. Our work stations are; Kisumu, Machakos, Kisii, Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Homa – Bay, Siaya, Migori, Kakamega, Bungoma, Kiambu, Turkana, Trans – Nzoia, Kitui, Bungoma, Makueni and Mombasa.
Before you are issued with our contract form which you will sign on the training day, you must get membership of PROSPER Program. This Program is designed for all interns and part time employees of USAID. As a member of this program, you will participate in all workshops, fellowships and trainings both locally & internationally for free. You will also enjoy free Health Insurance Cover and accommodation within our rented apartments. Membership of this Program is mandatory and renewed every three months.
To register, you are required to physically submit KES 950 either to USAID Kenya branch Offices at Mountain View Plaza in Nakuru (along Kenyatta Road), or send it through M-PESA to 0717 722 653 (Nicholas Aminga Omwange – Operations Supervisor, USAID). Registration must be done by latest 1st May 2018 (Tuesday) at4:00 PM. The exact training locations within those Counties shall be communicated on 2nd May 2018 (Wednesday).
Kindly note that you will lose your chance if you don’t register for PROSPER Program within the specified deadline. You are also required to carry authentic documents to justify your qualification presented to us through your application on the training venue. If you send your fee using someone’s phone number, ensure you also send your Full names.
