Breaking news from the Supreme Court indicates that Babu Owinoโs election has been upheld. The MP appealed last year after the court nullified his election following Francis Mureithiโs challenge in court.
Babu appealed the nullification at the Supreme Court.Raila Odinga ,who shook hands with President Kenyatta, begged the head of state to forgive Babu.President Kenyatta was categorical that Babu must apologize.After the apology,Uhuru intervened.
Today the court upheld Babuโs election, meaning he will be the MP for Embakasi East for the next four years.
Yesterday Babu called upon his supporters to assemble at the Suppreme Court for good news:
โJUDGEMENT ON MY APPEAL FOLLOWING THE NULLIFICATION OF OUR 8/8 /2017 VICTORY BY THE HIGH COURT!
The Judgement on our appeal following the above mentioned ruling will be delivered at the court of appeal located at the Supreme Court building next to KICC at 9 am TOMORROW . I urge all my supporters to show up in solidarity with our course at the said court from 8:30am tomorrow. This is our battle as patriots against agents of impunity who are out to deny Embakasi East residents an opportunity to have the best representation in the parliament.
