If you have some amount you want to inject into business, the first thing to do is conduct background research to determine which businesses are booming.Unfortunately,2017 was tough for every entrepreneur in the country but even so, some individuals earned a fortune.

Below we are going to discuss top business ventures to start in Kenya in the year 2018. But before you sink your money into any business, you should be passion driven-do what you love.

  1. Salon/massage

The first business venture you should think of is salon and massage, which do extremely well in busy towns like Nairobi and Mombasa.

Last month, we had the opportunity to interview several individuals that own salon business, to my surprise, no individual claimed to have made a loss. In their responses, they all agreed that regardless of time and economic climate, the business must bring in some cash.

If you are within Nairobi, start thinking on how to set up a salon.

The capital required for salon business is Ksh150, 000-Ksh1 million, depending on location and how classy you want it to be.

Hotel Business

Human beings must do these three things: eat, dress and move. Before they move, they have to derive energy from food, which must be provided by someone. Hotel business is booming because it’s rare for a human being to skip meals at will. In Nairobi, for instance, if you manage to secure hotel premise in a bus environment, you will reap big.

Chemist/Pharmacy

If you are a nurse, you should quit your job now. Until recently, I wasn’t sure how chemists were making money out of an ignorant poplation.I later came to understand that chemists don’t have fixed prices for the drugs they sell. Do your research and you will confirm that drugs do not bear same price across chemists in the country.

Of course anyone can start a chemist but it would need some collaboration with a registered nurse or pharmacist. So if you have money, at least Ksh1 million you want to start a chemist with, look for a pharmacist, who will help you get a license for the business. You will register the business as a partnership formation.

Selling construction materials

It’s hard to find someone to tell you how this business is profitable, but we can authoritatively reveal today this is the right direction for anyone who is interested in starting a profitable venture in Kenya.

Once you set up, of course for at least Ksh 3 million in capital, you will expect to register profits in excess of Ksh 5,000 per day.

Betting company

Since the incorporation of Sportpesa, several betting companies have come up. The companies are owned by top politicians and entrepreneurs in the country.

To start a betting company, you need at least Ksh 20 million, but once you have one, you will recover the money within the shortest time possible.

Cosmetics shop

Women love beauty and beauty is what differentiates a woman and a man.In Kenya, cosmetics business is booming everywhere as women scramble for the few available cosmetics. The only issue surrounding this business is how to identify the tastes of each individual.
