How to Know and Block All the Apps Tracking You on Facebook

85

There are numerous Apps tracking you on Facebook. The good thing is that you can easily know and block them.

Your profile can often include your email address ad phone numbers as well as your work history and current location. And most people do not realize that if they are sharing that data with their friends, the apps used by those friends can see that data as well!

Advertisers, Facebook-app developers, and Facebook ad-tech partners can’t see your name, your phone number, or your employer  – Facebook encrypts and anonymizes all the data to protect your privacy. But it does sell that data in bulk to companies who want to target and track both you and people like you.

To stop some apps on Facebook tracking your data, you should do the following:

Go into your setting and once you are there, click on apps.

This is the shocking bit, which is the list of companies that are tracking you on Facebook. Be sure to click on the “Show All” button to get a view on all of the apps.

Hover your mouse of one of the apps. You have options. You can edit the permissions of the apps or permanently delete it so it can no longer access your Facebook account.

Review each app carefully and edit its permissions or delete its access to your Facebook account entirely. It is a bit of time-consuming, but when it comes to your personal information, it is worth it.

Now, scroll down a bit further in the settings and go to apps sections. You have more options here. You can use Facebook to log in and play games anonymously. We suggest you click on the “Apps Others Use” sections.

Inside “Apps Others Use”, you can see all the data you are letting your friends see and that data is being seen by the apps your friends use!
