Your phone number might be closed by Safaricom for several reasons and when that happens, you don’t have any option but to seek for ways of unblocking the line. This scenario often happens when your MPESA line is used to conduct suspect transactions or when your line is sending spammy messages. It also happens when your line receives transactions that Safaricom believes are worth investigations.
When your line is blocked/closed by Safaricom, the honourable thing to do is, visit Safaricom Cyber Crime office which is located at Westlands Nairobi and explain yourself. The Cyber Crime Unit is responsible for monitoring transactions within Safaricom MPESA lines and numbers. It’s the only office that can unblock or block your line. But you should also call 100 and try to explore ways of unblocking it.
The nice thing about this office is that once you explain yourself, they will look at your case and promptly resolve the issue. Sometimes they block the line so that you can present yourself to their office for them to understand your business and the kind of transactions that happens in your line; it’s not always that a crime has been committed.
You should not even visit Safaricom shop because you will certainly be referred to the Cyber Crime Unit.
The worst you will do is to buy a new line.Once you buy one,Safaricom will again block it—they will block all the subsequent lines you purchase until you give up.So present yourself to the Cyber Crime office and explain your case.
