Classic FM Kenya is owned by Patrick Quarcoo who is a Ghanaian. He co-founded the media station with British editor William Pike. The station started with a couple of staff and has since grown to become one of the most popular Radio Stations in Kenya. Classic FM is under Radio Africa Group, a company that owns The Star Newspaper, Classic FM, Kiss FM, Radio Jambo, X FM, East FM and Relax FM. Radio Africa is the fourth biggest Media House in Kenya, trailing Royal Media services, Nation Media Group and standard Media Group.

Among the pioneers of Classic FM include Maina Kageni and Daniel Ndambuki aka Mwalimu Kingangi.Classic FM posts a net profit in the neighbourhood of Ksh 50 million per month.

The station’s audience are majorly the youth, especially those in urban areas like Nairobi, Nakuru and Mombasa.
