NHIF Penalties are paid through MPESA paybill number 200222.To pay the penalties, follow these steps;
Amount penalty of Ksh 250 is surcharged for any payment made after the 9th of every month. To pay the penalty use the following steps:
- Go to MPESA Menu,click on Lipa Na MPESA then Paybill
- Enter 200222 as the NHIF Business Number
- Enter your National ID as the account number and add the letter “y” at the end of 2299784y.
- Enter Ksh 250 for every month defaulted e.g. if you have defaulted for four months enter Ksh 1,000 as the amount.
- Enter your Pin Number
You will receive a confirmation message from NHIF that you have successfully paid the penalty
