A day after Mariga lost the Kibra by election, Deputy President William Ruto has made his first comment. In his brief statement, Ruto says his party has made inroads in the so called Raila’s bedroom.

“Pongezi Benard Okoth for Kibra. Congrats Mariga, Team Jubilee & supporters for daring the so called ‘bedroom’, braving the chaos/violence, to double our vote from 12%(2017) to 26% now. Our competitors came down 78% (2017) to 52%. They retained the seat we have served notice”,Ruto wrote on his Facebook page

The DP spent millions of money to campaign in Kibra and he was sure of garnering significant votes, but his efforts were almost futile. What hindered his quest for the seat was President Uhuru Kenyatta’s absence. However, Ruto ensured that Mariga didn’t get less than what the Jubilee candidate garnered in 2017.

Mariga was the first to concede yesterday even before the counting was over. In a video shared on social media, Mariga congratulated Imran Okoth and welcomed him for tea.
