You may find yourself sending money to a wrong Airtel number then be forced to reverse. In order to reverse the money, follow these steps:
For an immediate transaction you will dial:
- *222#.
- Select my account.
- Select reverse wrong transaction.
- Select initiate transaction reversal.
- Select last transaction sent.
- Select option 1 to initiate the transaction.
- Enter PIN to complete the transaction. (The wrong recipient will receive a pop up message to approve the reversal).
For an older transaction you will dial:
- *222#.
- Select my account.
- Select reverse wrong transaction.
- Select initiate transaction reversal.
- Select other transaction sent.
- Enter the Airtel Money transaction id.
- Enter PIN to complete the transaction. (The wrong recipient will receive a pop up message to approve the reversal).
NB: If funds are still in the recipient’s account, the reversal will be completed. However, if the recipient has used up the funds, then the reversal will not take place.
It will take up to 48 hours for the money to be reversed to your account.
