Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama is dead.The governor was pronounced death on 18 December 2020.The cause of his death was Covid-19.
The Governor started complaining of chest pains and had difficulties in breathing early November. Since there are no good hospitals in Nairobi, he was rushed to a Nairobi Hospital and admitted in HDU.He has been in the hospital for more than three weeks under Oxygen.His family confirms that they were told by doctors that he won’t make it because he had underlying conditions.
Nyagarama was one of the Governors who didn’t build decent hospitals for Covid-19 patients. By the time he was dying, Doctors and Nurses in his County were on strike over payment and poor working conditions.
The Governor will be buried next week and his place take by his Deputy.
