Budget for Feeding 100 to 1000 Guests in Kenya

Assuming you have 100 to 1000 guests in Kenya, how much will you spend to feed them for one day? If you have not hosted visitors, you may think it’s easy to feed even 20 people, but try one day and come with a testimony. I tried to feed 200 visitors in 2018 and spent over Ksh 200,000.

Nowadays, you don’t have to cook for yourself, there are many catering companies you’ll give the job and pay them reasonable amount. One advantage of those companies is that in case anything happens with the food, they will be answerable.

To feed 100 people, here is the amount of money you’ll spend per day:

  1. Chairs and tent—Ksh 10,000
  2. Meat—Ksh 30,000
  3. Chapati+Mandazi—Ksh 5,000
  4. Ugali—Ksh 3,000
  5. Drinks—Ksh 20,000
  6. Catering—Ksh15,000
  7. Tea+coffee—Ksh 2,000
  8. Miscellaneous—10,000

Total=Ksh95,000

If you want to feed 1,000 people, you’ll spend approximately Ksh700,000 to Ksh1 million

Make sure that you have a catering team because those are the people who will help to serve food and ensure everyone is satisfied.
