Reports have emerged that aspiring Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja did not graduate from the University of Nairobi where he was pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science.Sakaja, whose middle name is Koskei, dropped out of college in fourth year after the course he was pursuing became difficult.

A letter from the University of Nairobi Deputy Vice-Chancellor Julius Ogeng’o to the Director of Criminal Investigations dated May 31, 2021 indicates that Sakaja was indeed a student at the university but he didn’t graduate.

“He undertook the programme “Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science” at the university for four years from 2003/2004 to 2007/2008,” Ogeng’o said in the letter, read the letter in parts.

Transcripts presented to the IEBC showed that he scored E and D in most units and in fourth year,6 out of 8 courses had E.

He wanted to present a fake university certificate to the IEBC but after being cornered,Sakaja acquired another fake degree from TEAM University Uganda. Looking at the graduation booklet,Sakaja’s name does not appear in the booklet.

It’s not clear how the Senator was cleared by the IEBC but we understand it’s the work of EACC to confirm whether the papers are genuine or not.

Since he has been cleared, the Senator will go ahead to contest against Polycarp Igathe. But latest polls shows that Igathe is ahead of Sakaja,a month after being declared Azimio candidate for Nairobi.
