Pastor Ezekiel Odiero of New Life Prayer Centre and Church has shocked Kenyans after driving himself in Ksh 18 million Lexus LX 570 car to Coast Region Police headquarters. Police gave him VIP treatment even as he presented himself to the station for arrest. He was arrested over the deaths of followers in his church and for owning a morgue which is not recognized by the government. He is also being interrogated over his relationship with Pastor Mackenzie.
The car he drove consumes fuel an ordinary man cannot afford—over Ksh 10,000 daily, it’s the same model President William Ruto drives.
Pastor Ezekiel does not own any other business apart from the church, meaning that the tithe his followers pay is enough to make him afford his expensive lifestyle. The pastor also owns a Ksh1 billion house in Mombasa which has over 30 rooms.
