The cost of replacing a lost passport in Kenya is Ksh 12,050. You will be provided with the Paybill Number to pay the money to. After paying, you are required to present the following documents:
- A duly filled application Form 19 and 2 payment invoices
- Original ID and a copy for Adults
- Personal Statement explaining circumstances for the damage
- Sworn Affidavit to support (iii) above
- Police Abstract for loss of passport
- Copy of the lost passport bio data page if available
The documents are presented at Nyayo House if you are in Nairobi. It will take 1 day to 3 weeks to receive your new passport.
When you receive a passport, ensure that you take copies and keep them because they might be required in future.
If you tear your passport into pieces and show on social media,you may not be allowed to replace it.
