Reports indicate that over 200 Kenyans will be deported from Qatar this year for testing HIV positive. The report further claims that reports from hospitals indicated alarming cases of HIV among Kenyans in Qatar. Since those Kenyans won’t continue working in the country, they have to return to Kenya.
Most of these Kenyans arrived in Qatar while negative but they started sleeping around with other Kenyans in Qatar, others got infected when they visited Kenya during the long vacation. Others contracted the disease in the streets of Qatar where they were doing prostitution.
The government doesn’t want to incur the costs of treatment. Employers also want to cut insurance costs.
