Gideon Moi has said that his multibillion-shilling business was started with Ksh 2000.
Gideon Moi says, “I struggled before I started my cattle ranch with a capital of Ksh 2,000 in 1979. I had secured admission to the University of Salford in England to further my studies, and it was during this time that I realized the need to become independent. I met a business-oriented friend at the university who motivated me to start saving money and taught me how to bargain, which helped curb my extravagance. By the end of the year, I had saved Ksh 2,100. I then returned to Kenya and used Ksh 2,000 to start my first business a cattle ranch.”
Gideon is the son of former president Daniel Moi. By the time Moi was dying,he had accumulated wealth of Ksh300 billion.
