Kitui

If you visit Kitui,you will find several people keeping bees. Those people often sell genuine honey.

Major supermarkets

Major supermarkets like Naivas and Carrefour sell genuine honey. They buy honey from major brands which is displayed in the shelves.

But when picking the honey, always see whether it’s genuine.

Baringo

If you visit Baringo,Marigat,Samburu or any Northern Part of Kenya,you might get honey which is genuine.But avoid honey which is sold along the road because some of the sellers don’t sell genuine one. Go to the interior parts of those places and you will get genuine honey.

Buy directly from farmers

Visit homes where honey keeping takes place and buy during harvesting.

How to identify genuine honey

How to know if honey is genuine and not adulterated. Pour cold water in a glass add a tablespoon of honey which will settle down at the bottom if it dissolves on the process know your honey is not pure. Pure honey settle at the bottom and only dissolves when it’s stirred . Also do a match stick test by dipping the stick in honey and try to light up if it does light then you have a genuine honey.
