Shocking Facts about Johanna Ngeno

86

There are some things that people don’t know about Johanna Ngeno. Here are the shocking facts about the late MP:

The man with no bodyguards, more than 20 PAs and several drivers:

Johana Ngeno was not your ordinary VIP. He was assigned upto four bodyguards but he rarely travelled with them.

For the 14 years that he has been MP,  the cumulative days he has been seen with a bodyguard cannot be 50. Yes 50 days. He would always brush the idea of bodyguard, occasionally leaving them behind, and asking them to stay at home.

Ngeno had drivers who were hardly on duty. He would go to Bomet town, randomly pick a friend and make them driver for a week or two. He leaves him in Kericho and picks another in the same town. That was Ngeno.

And PAs? Hehe, he had over 20 PAs from different regions, me included. Everytime I was with him, in the absence of Sportpesa Ronoh, I would be a PA. Kipkirui Sawe was another PA and whenever he was there, he would be the PA sitting behind him. In such circumstances I would sit in the front row along him giving him stories.

Whenever there was none, I would sit behind him and become a PA. Severally he introduced me to several people as his PA. And sometimes we could go for months without meeting. In Bomet he had Generali Katam, Bildad, and several others. In Kericho he had Hillary and several others. I mean everywhere.

Even his last PA Benard Ngeno was always within the constituency running his official and personal errands. He would daily pick a PA who would travel with him. Mostly it would be Sportpesa or Ezra. Or Katam in Bomet and Hillary in Kericho. Several in Eldoret.

If there is anything Ngeno loved in me was storytelling. I could keep him busy throughout all journeys. We would discuss issues ranging from politics, religion, Kipsigis history and Kalenjin heritage. Sometimes we would disagree and debate.

The following day he would send me via WhatsApp evidence to support his point on a thing we agreed last.”

Meanwhile, He married Nayianoi (Naaiyoni) Ntutu in a high-profile wedding on Aug 18, 2018. She’s the daughter of businessman Livingstone Ole Ntutu—stepbrother to Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu. They had two daughters.
