This lady wanted to move out,she has built her own house. Despite giving a notice to vacate the house,the landlord refused to let he leave.Here is the story:

Where I live I pay rent every 6 months (I picked that habit when I lived in Tanzania and I actually love it). My son found this house 2 years ago, moved in alone while I was out of the country, and I’ve been the one paying rent consistently.
My lease ended this February. Landlord asked if I’m renewing, I said no. He told me to vacate by end month which was jana…fine.
He already said he doesn’t refund deposit (17k) and you can’t “sit for it.” Cool. I let that go. Ati hio 17k hata haitoshi kupaka nyumba rangi and any repairs needed smh
Now here’s the part confusing me…
When I bought a car, he verbally said I should add 1k monthly for parking. Nothing written. Nothing signed. No amendment to contract.
Now as I’m moving out he’s demanding 5k for parking before I vacate.
My question is, how do you introduce a charge verbally, never put it in the agreement, then backdate it when someone is leaving?
I told him if we were renewing, we’d add the 1k officially in the new contract. But this one? It was never documented.
Am I wrong for refusing to pay the 5k? Sasa he’s guilt tripping me hapa na sijui mtu hafai kuhama na madharau bla bla bla
Be honest with me.
And landlords please… let’s be fair. Tenants are not ATMs.

The best thing to do in this case is to move to the Rent Tribunal and report the landlord. The tribunal will order the landlord to let you leave. You can also move out forcefully.
