Tanzanian Rostam Aziz is the new owner of Nation Media Group, a leading Kenyan media house.
The group owns several major outlets including NTV Kenya, NTV Uganda, Nation FM, Daily Nation, Taifa Leo, and Business Daily.
The Nation Media Group was owned by the late Aga Khan.
The transition comes at a time when social media and YouTube are taking over the news and entertainment spaces.
NTV controls less than 20% of TV viewership in Kenya. The leading TV station is Citizen TV with viewership of more than 50%.
