Ken Mbiuki is the founder of Zetech University and is widely recognized for building one of Kenya’s leading private universities from a small computer training venture.
Mbiuki began his journey in 1997 while studying at the University of Nairobi. At the age of about 22, he started teaching basic computer skills to fellow students using his personal computer in a hostel room.
As demand for computer training grew, the classes expanded beyond the small space, forcing him to move to larger rooms before later establishing Zetech College to formalize the training.
The institution continued to grow alongside the increasing demand for ICT education in Kenya, eventually expanding into a fully accredited university with multiple campuses and academic programmes.
Today, Zetech University offers courses in ICT, business, engineering and media studies, with Mbiuki earning recognition as a successful education entrepreneur in the country. Zetech has a population of over 10,000 students and at least 75,000 alumni
