Christmas and festive season is here again and as usual fare prices have increased significantly. We have established that Transline Classic, Guardian Angel, Easy Coach and Nyamira Express have all hiked fare prices.This is due to the large number of people travelling from Nairobi to Kisii,Kisumu and Western Kenya.
Transline Classic, which normally charges Ksh1,000 from Nairobi to Kisii,is expected to increase the fare from that amount to Ksh 1,500.Easy Coach will charge Ksh2,000 from Nairobi to Kisii,and Ksh2,500 from Nairobi to Kisumu. Guardian Angel will also charge Ksh2,000 from Nairobi to Kisii and Ksh2,500 from Nairobi to Kisumu.
Even as the fare prices increase to a maximum of Ksh3, 000, travelers should be prepared to pay more as Christmas fast approaches. They are also advised to book early so as to avoid missing bus to their villages.
We have also established that fare prices for buses at Machakos Country Bus has more than doubled since the beginning of the month. You will now pay at least Ksh800 if you want to travel to Kisii,at least Ksh 1,300 if you want to travel to Kisumu and at least Ksh 1,500 if you want to travel to Kakamega and Bungoma.
The fare from Nairobi to Nakuru,which is usually Ksh 3,00 is now Ksh500.
