President Kenyatta sacked 13 Cabinet Secretaries who include:
- Eugene Wamalwa-Water And Irrigation
- Adan Mohammed-CS Industrialization
- Mohamed Amina-CS Foreign Affairs
- Raychelle Omamo-CS Defence
- Dan Kazungu-CS Mining
- Dr Cleopa Kilonzo Mailu
- Phyllis Kandie –Labour and East African Affairs
- Prof Jacob Kaimenyi-Lands
- Prof Judy Wakhungu –Environment
- Willy Bett-CS Agriculture
- Sicily Kanini Kariuki-Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs
- Mwangi Kiunjuri-CS Devolution and Planning
- Dr Hassan Wario-CS Sports, Art and Culture
The CSs will hand over to the new Cabinet Secretaries the President would appoint in the coming week.In the same breath,the president retained 5 Cabinet Secretaries.The names are as follows:Fred Matiang’i (Interior), Charles Keter (Energy), Najib Balala (Tourism), Henry Rotich (Treasury), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport).
He also appointed new Cabinet secretaries who include Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko, former Marsabit governor Ukur Yatani and former Turkana Senator John Munyes.
