Former Prime Minster Raila Odinga is dead. Raila died from heart attack in India where he has been receiving treatment.Raila was flown to India two weeks ago for specialized treatment. He didn’t make it back to the country.
The 80 year old joined Ruto’s government in 2024 and formed broad based government. This was after Gen Z demonstrations that left many of them dead.The Enigma has not been feeling well this year,which was worrying among his supporters.
Last month, Raila collapsed in his home. Doctors advised him to remain at home and void active politics. Few days later,he became more serious, prompting the government to airlift him to India.
He was confirmed dead on 15 October 2025
