Raila Odinga died in India on 15 October 2025 due to cardiac arrest. He died at the age of 80. Raila was born in 1945.
Below are events which led to Raila’s death:
~ Baba’s taking a walk and experiences sudden shortness of breath.
~ He collapses. His heart stops. Maurice Ogeta, the bodyguard, begins CPR immediately. His personal Doctor is present, guiding Maurice.
~ He’s rushed to hospital. Maurice is still actively doing CPR. He never stops doing CPR. He’s a well trained Paramedic.
~ Hospital Casualty Dept take over and continue CPR. He’s also not breathing. He’s intubated, rushed to ICU and placed on a Ventilator.
~ ECG shows ST Elevation. Scans show Myocardial Infarction. Clots are blocking blood flow in his heart.
~ They administer an IV medication called tPA (Tissue Plasminogen Activator) that works by dissolving blood clots.
~ Heart starts to pump but stops several times.
~ They continue CPR and IV fluids for 2hrs.
~ Heart never pumps again.
~ They let Baba rest
Raila’s health started to deteriorate when his PA George died in 2025. Ever since,he has never been well. Raila opted for treatment in India where he died.
